Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked chicken chopped
  • 1 package ranch dressing mix (1-ounce)
  • 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cooked bacon chopped
  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • 1 can unsalted cream of chicken soup (10.5-ounce)
  • 1 ½ cups Ritz crackers crushed
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, Ranch dressing mix, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, sour cream, and unsalted cream of chicken soup. Stir the mixture until all ingredients are thoroughly blended and evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
4 cups cooked chicken, 1 package ranch dressing mix, 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, 1 cup cooked bacon, 1 ½ cups sour cream, 1 can unsalted cream of chicken soup
  • In a separate smaller bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted unsalted butter until the crackers are fully coated and form a crumbly topping.
1 ½ cups Ritz crackers, ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • Transfer the chicken mixture into a casserole dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the buttery cracker topping evenly over the chicken mixture.
  • Place the casserole dish in the air fryer and set the temperature to 325ºF (160ºC). Cook for about 15 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the cracker topping is golden brown. Once cooked, carefully remove the dish from the air fryer and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Even Chicken Distribution: Chop your chicken into even pieces so that every bite has the perfect balance of flavors, ensuring even cooking in the air fryer.
  • Cheddar Choice: A sharp cheddar will give you a bolder, richer flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy base.
  • Crispier Topping: For an extra-crunchy topping, consider adding a second layer of Ritz crackers and butter.
  • Bacon Boost: Use crispy bacon for the best texture. If your bacon isn’t as crispy as you like, toss it in the air fryer for a few minutes before adding it to the mix.
  • Soup Swap: Feel free to experiment with the cream of chicken soup. Cream of mushroom or cream of celery works just as well and can bring a whole new flavor twist to the dish.
  • Fresh Finish: Adding a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives right before serving not only adds a pop of color but also gives a fresh flavor contrast to the creamy casserole.
  • Baking Tip: Spread the casserole evenly in the dish to ensure it cooks perfectly in the air fryer.
