Ingredients

  • 2 bone-in pork chops
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons oil

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, dried sage, garlic powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and oil to create a marinade.
1 ½ teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon dried sage, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 1 ½ tablespoons oil
  • Rub the marinade mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes at room temperature.
    2 bone-in pork chops
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Once preheated, place the marinated pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overlapping.
  • Cook the pork chops in the air fryer for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  • Once cooked through and golden brown, remove the pork chops from the air fryer.
  • Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Boneless: Yes, you can use boneless pork chops if that's what you have. Just remember to adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the chops.
  • Frozen Pork Chops: You can also cook frozen pork chops in the air fryer. Just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time, and ensure they reach the proper internal temperature.
  • Seasoning: Don't hesitate to tweak the marinade to your liking. Add more or less of any spices to dial in the flavor exactly how you like it. Onion powder and smoked paprika are great additions.
  • Marinate Longer: If you have time, let the pork chops marinate longer, even overnight in the refrigerator. This will intensify the flavors.
  • Oil: Feel free to use different types of oil for the marinade. Olive oil or melted butter are great choices that add their own unique flavors.
  • Add Sauce: Feel free to brush your favorite BBQ sauce or glaze on the pork chops during the last few minutes of cooking for added flavor.
  • Use a Meat Thermometer: To make sure your pork chops are cooked inside but not overdone, use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) for perfect doneness.

Storage and Reheating Instructions

  • Cool and Airtight: Let the pork chops cool to room temperature before you pack them away, and use airtight containers or zip-top bags to store them.
  • Refrigerate: Store the pork chops in the refrigerator as soon as they've cooled. They will keep well for up to 3-4 days.
  • Reheating: When you're ready to eat, reheat the pork chops in the air fryer at 350°F until they're heated through. This helps to preserve their texture and flavor better than microwaving.
