Ninja Creami Dole Whip

I grew up loving Dole Whip at Disney, and making my own Ninja Creami Dole Whip at home honestly surprised me with how spot-on it turned out. It’s light and refreshing with bright pineapple flavor, a whisper of coconut, and a smooth, airy texture that melts beautifully. It tastes like a tropical vacation without the price tag.

I make this all summer long for pool parties, Friday nights, and honestly any night it’s too hot to even think about turning on the oven. It’s dairy-free and naturally sweetened, which makes it an easy yes for almost everyone at the table. Keep it stored in the Ninja Creami pint in the freezer and give it a re-spin before serving for that perfect soft texture.

Making this homemade Dole Whip recipe at home is so much easier than you’d think, and the result is every bit as good as the original, with healthy ingredients.

Blend the Base

Add the frozen pineapple chunks, full-fat coconut milk, honey or maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to a high-powered blender.

If you don’t have frozen pineapple on hand, canned pineapple chunks work as a swap. Drain them well, spread on a freezer-safe sheet pan, and freeze solid before adding them to the blender for best results.

Blend everything until completely smooth, then freeze the mixture.

You could also replace the frozen pineapple with frozen mango to make a mango Dole Whip with the same creamy coconut base. Add a splash of mango juice to deepen the tropical flavor even further if you want.

Lime juice, or even orange juice, works just as well as lemon juice in this great recipe and gives the Dole Whip a slightly different citrus edge and depth that still complements the pineapple beautifully.

Oat milk or another non-dairy milk can also be used as an alternative to coconut milk, though the result will be less rich and creamy than the full-fat coconut milk version.

Blend everything until completely smooth with no chunks remaining. The more completely you blend before freezing, the smoother texture you’ll get after spinning. You want a thick, uniform mixture before it goes anywhere near the freezer.

Freeze the Mixture

Transfer the blended mixture into your Ninja Creami pint container. Make sure it’s filled evenly, then seal and freeze until completely solid. Don’t rush this step since the mixture needs to be fully frozen before spinning.

Spin and Serve

Once frozen solid, place the pint into your Ninja Creami and run the Smoothie Bowl setting. Let it spin fully until the texture is smooth and creamy throughout.

Delicious homemade Dole whip garnished with fresh mint and strawberries. Perfect for summer.

Ninja Creami Dole Whip

Ninja Creami Dole Whip is my favorite way to bring that iconic tropical frozen treat home without the theme park line. Frozen pineapple, full-fat coconut milk, honey, and a little lemon juice spin together into something smooth, light, and genuinely bright with real pineapple flavor. It's naturally dairy-free and sweetened with honey or maple syrup, which makes it an easy yes for almost any crowd. I love making it all summer for cookouts, pool days, and warm evenings when I want something cold and a little fun.

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients until completely smooth.
4 cups frozen pineapple chunks, 1 cup full-fat coconut milk, 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, Pinch of salt
  • Transfer the mixture to a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze until completely solid.
  • Spin using the Smoothie Bowl setting until smooth and creamy.

Notes

Here are a few tips I’ve picked up to help you get the best results every time.
Use full-fat coconut milk: The higher fat content is what gives the Dole Whip its rich, creamy texture. Light coconut milk will produce a icier, less smooth result.
Shake the can well: Full-fat coconut milk can separate in the can, so shake it thoroughly before measuring to get a consistent blend.
Don’t skip the lemon juice: It brightens the pineapple flavor significantly and keeps the Dole Whip from tasting flat or overly sweet.
Blend until completely smooth: Any remaining chunks of frozen pineapple before freezing will affect the final texture of the dessert after spinning, so keep blending until the mixture is silky.
Freeze completely before spinning: The Ninja Creami needs a fully frozen pint to work properly. If the center is still soft, the machine won’t be able to create that smooth, airy consistency you’re looking for.
Store properly: Freeze in the Ninja Creami pint for one to two weeks. Before digging into leftovers straight from the freezer, always re-spin on the Smoothie Bowl setting. It takes the texture from icy back to that signature soft-serve creaminess instantly.

How to Store Leftovers

Store any Dole Whip leftovers by placing the lid back on the Ninja Creami pint airtight container and returning it to the freezer, where it’ll keep well for one to two weeks.

When you’re ready to enjoy it again, let the pint sit at room temperature for about five minutes to soften slightly around the edges.

Re-spin on the Smoothie Bowl setting with a tablespoon or two of fresh pineapple juice to bring back that fresh, creamy texture and the desired consistency.

Avoid storing it in a standard freezer bag or open container since the texture will suffer from freezer burn. Keeping it sealed in the original pint container gives you the best results every time.

What to Serve With Ninja Creami Dole Whip

It’s refreshing enough to enjoy on its own, but it also pairs beautifully with other fruity or tropical desserts if you’re putting together a dessert spread.

Serve it alongside fresh mango slices, grilled pineapple, or a fruit skewer platter for an effortless summer dessert station.

It also pairs well as a topping or side for coconut-flavored baked goods like coconut macaroons or coconut cake.

If you’re serving it at a party, set out toppings like toasted coconut flakes, fresh mint, or a honey drizzle so guests can customize their own bowl.
